RING-WRITER PUTS WRITING BACK IN THE HANDS OF MOBILE USERS

13 MARCH 2006

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A new user interface for pen-on-touchscreen based mobile devices evolves mobile text entry beyond thumbing on numeric keypads and miniaturized keyboards.

The community of Ring-Writers expanded with the release of Ring-Writer 1.1 for Sony Ericsson models P900 and P910i in March 2006, three months after Ring-Writer 1.0 for Nokia 7710 was made available as a pilot version of the software.

Ring-Writer provides a natural, fluid and easy way to enter text on smartphones, letting your words flow anywhere and anytime, especially when composing SMS or email messages.

The innovative software system puts the art of writing back in your hand, using what we all learned first – a pen. Ring-Writer actually improves the pen, and because of its predictive word capability and easy to remember word-shapes "Ring-writing" is a more powerful writing tool than a keyboard, hand-writing recognition software, or even pen on paper.

Ring-Writer also solves the problem of intuitively interfacing with a hand-held computing environment since it delivers an innovative, yet simple command entry and text input system. The new Ring-Writer technology will be released for many hand-held communications devices and eventually run on other types interactive environments.

The first users of this pilot version of Ring-Writer provided very positive feedback in the user forums at www.ring-writer.com.

"Ring-Writer is something I've been looking for a long time," said one user.

"The good thing about RW is that despite it being a java application, it is really fast to recognise inputs," another Ring-Writer said.

Software downloads of the pilot versions, a Flash demo, background, documentation, help and FAQ are also available on the Ring-Writer website.

Timothy Scanlan, the inventor and entreprenuer behind Ring-Writer, is available for interviews immediately.

INVESTOR AND PARTNERSHIP INFORMATION

Current development efforts for Ring-Writer focus on creating an integrated software system for hand-held devices. The Ring-Writer team seeks investors in this exciting new technology as well as partners to develop new hardware engineered around the Ring-Writer system. License agreements for the software system to be intregrated into existing devices are being considered as well.

The Ring-Writer development team is based in Bucharest, Romania and consists of British, American and Romanian individuals.

"I was very impressed with Romania as a base for software development from my first meetings with developers through the Association of the Software Industry and Services (ANIS). The Romanians have a great amount of dynamism, along with their knowledge and skill, that I found refreshing," said Ring-Writer inventor Timothy Scanlan, a British national.
